1874 NORTHWICH end the campaign holding a trophy after winning the North West Counties League’s Challenge Cup for the first time.
Aaron Smith’s goal, with two minutes left, settled the outcome of their encounter with newly-crowned Premier Division champions City of Liverpool at Altrincham’s Moss Lane home.
The midfielder, who made his debut in March after ending a stay with Scottish Premiership club Hamilton Academical, was the game’s outstanding performer.
