A TEAM from Middlewich has celebrated their first victory of a challenging debut season in the Everybody League’s top-flight.
Cheshire Stars S have found the going tough in the Premier Division after being promoted and that makes a 30-27 success against AIM one to savour.
They had lost on their previous 21 attempts to break their duck.
In the same section, Stars T went down 42-22 against high-flying Ladyhawks G.
Stars A prevailed after a frantic fixture against Indigo in the Championship Division.
Their opponents pushed them the distance, particularly during a third quarter when they turned over possession repeatedly.
However player-of-the-match Catherine Barton’s accurate shooting ensured a 38-31 victory.
Stars R welcomed back Diane Gentle for a Division One encounter with Sandstormers.
She was chosen afterwards as their best performer during a 30-19 reverse despite playing with a dislocated finger.
