Bebington 2-1 Winnington Park

WINNINGTON Park still have work to do if they are to avoid relegation after a wasteful performance saw them fall to a defeat at Bebington.

They could not make the most of having a series of short-corner in the first-half but did at least establish an interval lead when Tom Hughes converted from captain Paul Stackhouse's assist.

However the home team scored twice in quick succession after the turnaround, a lead they held onto after Winnington again failed to take any of the opportunities they created.

It leaves the Northwich side third-bottom in the North West Men's League's Division One table, six points clear of Oxton's seconds who visit Sir John Deane's College on Saturday.

Winnington Park 2nd 0-2 Alderley Edge 4th

THE home team were playing catch-up from the moment Alderley Edge's fourth team took an early lead last weekend.

Winnington were kept at arm's length by their opponents before the break but dominated proceedings afterwards.

Park could not find a way through and fell further behind when the away side added to their tally at the end of a counter-attack.

Winnington Park 4th 2-5 Runcorn 2nd

RUNCORN'S seconds were more ruthless in front of goal and were rewarded with maximum points.

Liam McKee's leveller hauled the Northwich side level after they had fallen behind but the visitors to Sir John Deane's College had poached another goal before the interval.

Winnington had more possession in the second-half without threatening often to score although McKee grabbed his second to make it 3-2.

Runcorn were clinical though, scoring twice more before the final whistle.
