Winnington Park Ladies 1-4 Macclesfield Ladies
WINNINGTON Park’s inconsistent start to 2019 continued following a heavy home defeat and they must improve if they want to finish in a promotion position.
The did take the lead at Grange School when Jaz Barlow found the net but their in-form opponents restored parity five minutes later.
Macc then controlled the second-half, adding three goals to their tally, to climb above Park in the Cheshire Women’s League's top-flight table.
Wilmslow Ladies 3rd 1-0 Winnington Park Ladies 2nd
AFTER losing the return 4-0 last month, Winnington’s seconds were sturdier in defence when they visited promotion-chasing hosts last weekend.
They had to withstand long spells of pressure but Coral Taylor, Beth Preston and Julia Harries stayed solid to protect their goalkeeper.
In-form Wilmslow did find a way through on one occasion, which proved decisive, while at the other end Izzy Warrener’s penalty-flick was saved by the home team’s net-minder.
