WINSFORD United came from behind to earn a draw with in-form opponents on Saturday.

Burscough, who had won fivesuccessive games to climb to fifth, conceded to Will Foster and Sam Howell as Blues remain unbeaten since Congleton's visit on November 19.

Manager Lee Duckworth was without suspended duo Dave Short and Perry Bircumshaw, while full-back Damian Skolorzynski was unvailable.

George Blackwell joined Howell in the starting line-up.

And Winsford did not appear impacted as they lay siege to the Linnets' goal in the opening 15 minutes.

Obi Anoruo found the visiting goalkeeper in inspired form though Max Povey could no nothing about Foster's close-range drive that marked Blues' dominance at that point.

Burscough looked rejuvenated in the second-half, and mounting pressure told when Jordan Lorde broke free and lifted the ball over custodian Michael Langley and into the net.

The goal galvanised the visitors and a soft free-kick on the visitors' left was swung in with the ball finding the net off a Blues defender.

However it was later credited to Chad Whyte.

Duckworth responded by sending on Callum Collinson, a new recruit from Cheadle Town, for his debut.

Five minutes later the substitute was upended wide on the right after he toyed with a defender.

Blackwell expertly swung the dead ball into the danger area and Howell rose highest to seal a point.
