The FA will publish the draw on its website here

Who?

A total of 88 clubs, including 22 teams that make up the Northern Premier League’s Premier Division, enter at this stage.

They will be joined by clubs from the Bostik League’s top-flight and the Southern League – both the Premier Central and Premier South – that play at step three in the National League System.

A total of 72 ties will be drawn.

The National Game Board determines which rounds are played on a geographical basis.

How it works

If a first match is drawn after 90 minutes, then extra-time can be played providing both clubs have agreed in advance.

They can also choose to have a penalty shoot-out to decide a winner if the scores remain level after an added 30 minutes.

Should both clubs prefer a replay in the event of a draw, then it must be played on or before the Thursday following the first meeting.

There are no second replays; if the teams can’t be separated inside 90 minutes, then extra-time and a penalty shoot-out will follow.

Witton’s recent record in the FA Trophy

Albion, runners-up in the final in 1992, exited last season’s competition at the first qualifying round stage following a 4-0 defeat at league rivals Workington.

That contrasted sharply to a run to the first round the previous season when National League side Chester needed two attempts to eliminate Carl Macauley’s men.

They progressed following a 2-1 win in a replay.

The Northwich club hadn’t made it that far in a decade, bowing out following a 1-0 defeat at home to Rushden & Diamonds in the second round in January 2007.

Lee Tomlin, currently on the books at Premier League club Cardiff City, scored the only goal at Wincham Park that day.

Prize money

A win at this stage of the competition is worth £3,250 to the victors
