MEMBERS of Winsford U3A are enjoying an extensive choice of concerts at the Crewe Lyceum Theatre.

They have been awarded complimentary tickets to see ‘The Smallest Show On Earth’, a musical comedy inspired by a 1950’s film.

Last month the delightful ‘Matt Monro Story’ with original recordings and archive footage was a treat for all who attended and they now look forward to the Strauss Christmas Gala in December.

This feast of musical entertainment continues into the New Year with ‘Rumours of Fleetwood Mac’ tribute band and ‘Beyond The Barricade’, the latter being a selection of popular songs from modern musicals.

Concerts on offer accommodate a variety of musical tastes and genres.

A trip to the Bridgewater Hall to see the ‘Space Spectacular’ show includes ‘The Planets’ by Gustav Holst, with well-known theme tunes by John Williams such as ‘Star Wars’ and ET.

In support of Middlewich and District Concerts Society which promotes outstanding talent in classical performance, the music appreciation group anticipate being charmed by the Darian Duo on violin and piano playing Ravel and Brahms in a forthcoming event.

All members are invited to join the singing group in a festive singalong as they prepare to make merry the Christmas luncheon celebrations at the Vale Royal Abbey.

Visitors are invited to a seasonal welcome morning with mince pies on Friday, November 27 in Winsford Library.
