A NANTWICH man is one of a 14-strong gang of drug dealers jailed after being caught flooding the area with cocaine.

The gang, the rest of whom all come from Ellesmere Port, have been jailed for more than 60 years between them.

David Lunt, 51, of Pickering Way, Nantwich, was jailed for three years and four months.

The gang operated a complex and seemingly lucrative network of drug dealing across the Cheshire area.

Lunt was one of the lieutenants of brothers Shaun Gregerson, 32, and Anthony Gregerson, 30, who masterminded the sophisticated plot to deal the Class A drugs.

They were both jailed for eight years.

Lee Haddock, 26, was sentenced to seven years and six month, Michael Truong, 24, was jailed for six years;, Paul Head, 20, for three years; William Jones, 19, three years; Carl Birch, 23, four years six month, John Donoghue, 37, 47 months; Andrew Green, 34, three years years, Robin Cartwright, 22, and Michael Buggy, 24, two years each.

Lee Walters, 21, and Martin Jacob, 26, were sentenced to 32 months each on Thursday last week, bringing to an end the successful, in-depth investigation by Cheshire Police.

Drug Squad officers seized about 3.5 kilos of cocaine worth £150,000 - although their profits were far higher.

Detective Sarah Pengelly said: “These men were attracted by the perceived wealth of dealing in illegal drugs - when now the reality and the consequence of their actions is prison.

“The local information gathered, utilised with other techniques and support from specialist units, have helped bring to justice and remove from our streets a gang of men who are collectively responsible for bringing misery upon whole communities affected by their illegal drug dealing.”

A variety of policing techniques and resources were used in bringing the men to justice, from Air Support to covert policing techniques and specialist evidence and intelligence gathering.
