A REPRESENTATIVE of one of the bidders competing for Cheshire’s £850m household waste contract is set to attend Lostock Gralam Parish Council.
Peter Wishart, planning advisor at Viridor, the company proposing a mechanical biological treatment plant, off Griffiths Road, Lostock Gralam, will hold a question and answer session with parish councillors at their September meeting on Monday.
Last week, the company submitted a new planning application for a facility to treat 200,000 tonnes of residual waste a year.
Viridor also confirmed it would appeal against the rejection of its initial proposal, which was turned down by councillors in June.
A representative from Viridor, said: “The meeting is just about getting as much information out there as we can and to try to dispel some of the confusion that is going on around Cheshire.”
The meeting of the parish council will the held at St John the Evangelist church hall, on Station Road, starting at 7.30pm.
It will open with a 15-minute public forum, when members of the public can raise issues.
