THE Harlequin Theatre is set to raise the curtain on its first production of the new season.

The Queen Street venue, Northwich, will host Tape, a play directed by Kelly White, and written by Stephen Belber in 1999.

Set in Michigan, USA, the intense, funny drama explores the memories of three high school friends in the summer they were leaving school, and contains some strong language, sexual references and smoking on stage.

Staring Chris Finney as Vince, Matthew Lambert as Jon and Jennifer Oates as Amy, the performance will run from tomorrow, Thursday, until Saturday.

The audience will also experience a change to their viewing experience, as some of the seating will be brought out onto the stage area.

The theatre itself has won the Cheshire Theatre Guild’s Adjudicator’s Award for Theatrical Adventure, for two seasons running.

To cope with increased demand, tickets, which cost £7 or £6 for full-time students are now available online, at: harlequinplayers.co.uk, or through the box office, on: 01606 353534.
