CREWE Carnival went with a bang at the weekend as pop star Darius entertained crowds.
This year's event was held at the King Geroge V playing fields as work continues to revamp Queen's Park.
The free day of entertainment was headlined by Popstar to Opera Star winner Darius Campbell.
Despite the rain, hundreds of people turned out to join in the traditional celebrations.
The carnival was officially opened by Crewe Mayor Councillor Jacquie Weatherill.
Entertainment on the day featured a performance by Over the Rainbow finalist Dani Rayner Music promoters Volume also organised shows by original local bands Vavoom and The Retrospective, and talented pianist and singer Tom Seals and musicians.
There were stunt displays, a gymnastic display by The Kangaroos, along with performances from the X Academy and Footloose dance groups and the Matrix cheerleading squad.
There were also displays by the Wyche Dog Training The entertainment was brought to a close by a huge firework display.
