CREWE sports students have been getting stuck into a new fitness testing kit used by some of the country’s top Premiership footballers.
Emma Kingzett, from the Lucozade Sports Science team, dropped into South Cheshire College to talk to sports students about the new SMART kit.
The new high-tech equipment measures the fitness levels of players at clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea.
Students took a closer look at the kit before they were put through their paces and tested it out for themselves.
The group were also given a lecture about hydration and nutrition using Lucozade Sport.
Chris Hollinshead, sports lecturer at the college, who organised the visit, said: “We were very grateful to Emma for coming into college.
“This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn about equipment which is being used by footballers in England’s top league.”
Sports students take part in a variety of practical sessions and receive demonstrations from sports experts throughout the college year.
Chris added: “Students really benefit from these talks and it builds on their knowledge as well as giving them the chance to try practical activities.”
