GENEROUS Winsfordians helped raise £20,000 for the Poppy Appeal this year.
People and businesses collected on behalf of the Winsford branch of the Royal British Legion, while some of its members decorated an empty shop in the town centre with their memorabilia.
Member Rob Samways said: “Thank you to the people of Winsford for their donations to the Poppy Appeal, and especially to the people who collected for us.
“And also to Winsford Cross Shopping Centre for lending us the unit, it was a great asset. We found that quite a lot of children came in and helped make it a sucess.
“There will always be a need for the British legion to provide for people needing our help and that is why this kind of thing is so important to us.
“And a huge thanks must go to our honorary appeal organiser Dilip Solanki-Koli.”
