A DOUBLE headliner of cutting edge sounds, featuring The New 1920 and Skeletons, comes to The Box in Crewe on Thursday Nov 26.

Cardiff quartet The New 1920 are really beginning to make a name for themselves.

After touring alongside Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Fighting With Wire, Kids in Glass Houses and Lostprophets, they have finally taken the opportunity to put material down on CD for their debut self titled EP.

Produced in bedrooms and garages across Cardiff by Lostprophets trio Stuart Richardson, Mike Lewis and Ian Watkins last summer, The New 1920 have created three vibrant punchy rock tunes with a slight punk edge.

Music magazine Rock Sound said: "The tunes are addictive and the lyrics are simply genius! This band are going to be massive."

They are able to create catchy sing-a-long lyrics, forceful guitar riffs and an atmosphere you just have to be a part of, as well as near to perfect lyrics buried in the ups and downs of life, love, loss and escaping the world around us.

Skeletons have just sold out on their debut release on Pure Groove, supported the likes of Pavilion and Twisted Wheel and recentlly headlined the BBC Introducing stage at Reading/Leeds.

Hailing from Sheffield, the quintet bonded many years ago over a shared love of Minnie Riperton, Micheal Jackson, Slayer and martial arts - they met at a karate lesson.

After their former incarnation (Fierce Panda-signed ThisGIRL) came to its natural demise, the then four-piece recruited keyboardist Matt Jones and Skeletons And The Empty Pockets was born.

Their first show was a small invite-only affair at Sheffield’s legendary Club 60 and in a surprisingly short space of time they have developed into one of the hottest live bands in Britain’s fifth city.

Support for this show comes from Stoke's The Only Alternatives, Bad Attitude and Athena.

Tickets are £6 and available from www.theboxcrewe.co.uk. Doors are from 8pm.
