POLICE are warning drivers about six-hour road closures in the centre of Alsager for the Christmas lights switch-on and Christmas market on Sunday November 29.
Lawton Road will be closed from its junction with Sandbach Road North to its junction with Shady Grove and Sandbach Road South will be closed from its junction with Lawton Road to its junction with Station Road.
The closures will be in force from 3pm to 9pm.
Crewe Road will also be closed from its junction with Church Road to its junction with Sandbach Road North between about 5.15 pm and 5.35pm for a torchlight parade.
Derek Griffiths, the Cheshire Police Eastern Area's planning officer, said: “A lot of people will be going into Alsager for this event, but anyone wanting to pass through the town centre will need to allow some extra time and use a diversion.”
The diversion routes are via Sandbach Road North, Sandbach Road, Linley Lane, Lawton Road and Audley Road, A500, Radway Green Road and Crewe Road.
