NEW conductor Anthony Rose, of Sandbach Voices, received a welcoming reception at his first concert in Sandbach Town Hall on Saturday night.

A full house responded enthusiastically to his production of Schubert’s Deutsche Mass, which the well trained choir delivered with gentle harmony.

The joyful sounds of Vivaldi’s Gloria, which was included in the programme at short notice, was well received.

And soloists soprano Elise Dye and counter-tenor proved a huge hit.

The concert was brought to a fitting end with a performance of Charpentier’s Te Deum.

Sandbach Voices' Christmas concert, which is a programme of Christmas music and carols, is a joint show with St Nicholas Girls School in Hartford.

It will take place in St Mary’s Church in Sandbach on Saturday December 12. Tickets are £9 with accompanied children under 16 admitted free.
