HARTFORD’S shop owners are planning on staging a special Victorian Christmas event in December.
The village has had a troubled past six months with road works causing havoc on the roads and as a result the shops on Chester Road now want to give something back to the community.
They are planning on holding a Victorian-themed day on Saturday, December 12, which they hope will bring the village together.
Ideas for the day include a hog roast, Santa’s grotto, carol singing provided by the church and schools, brass band, roasted chestnuts and mulled wine, warm mince pies, cake stalls, craft stalls, shoe shining and a news boy.
Children will also be asked to make their own Christmas cracker or paint their own tree decoration.
If you have any further ideas for the day or want further information please contact Daniel Pendlebury or Dawn Bradley, at the Co-op, on Chester Road on 01606 74089.
