MANCHESTER Camerata is giving families in Crewe the chance to take part in a Family Creativity Day on Saturday November 1 at the Lyceum Theatre.

The event will incorporate music, arts and crafts, and drama.

The day will contain a high-energy percussion workshop, where participants can have a go on a vast array of instruments, as well as an arts and crafts workshop in which they will make costumes, props and sets.

Camerata musicians and a storyteller will then get together with everyone involved to breathe life into a dramatic script – so everyone will get a chance to flex their acting muscles.

Nick Ponsillo, project manager for Chester Festivals education programme, said: “Family Creativity Days are a great introduction to the creative and innovative approach that Manchester Camerata take in learning and participation, as well as a fantastic way for a family to spend a day together.”

The day, which will run from 10.30am to 3pm, is most suitable for children aged between seven and 11 years, although other ages are welcome.

All children must be accompanied by a supervising adult.

The event will culminate in a final performance at 2.30pm given by all participants.

Tickets are £5 and £3 for children, and available from the box office on 01270 537333 or www.lyceumtheatre.net.
