STAFF and students at South Cheshire College downed coffee by the mug-full at a special fundraising event on Friday.
The Crewe college’s Student Council and entry level students hosted a Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning to raise bucket-loads of cash.
The college offered mugs of coffee for a minimum fee of 50 pence in the relaxing piano bar on campus.
Students also set up a coffee, cake and biscuit stall near to the main college reception to catch the attention of other staff and students.
Clive Armitage, youth support worker at South Cheshire College, said: “Throughout the year there are a number of fundraising activities which raise cash for good causes.
“We were pleased to be able to stage this Macmillan coffee morning and thanks to staff and students who supported it.”
Macmillan Cancer Support helps to fund nurses and other specialist health care professionals and build cancer care centres. Clive added: “Macmillan Cancer Support does a fantastic job up and down the country and we want to help in any way we can.”
