OLDER residents in Crewe and Nantwich celebrated National Older Person’s Day last week in an event organised by housing provider Wulvern.

Residents from Wulvern’s sheltered housing schemes were invited to take to the floor with staff at a tea dance to celebrate the lives of older people and their contribution to the community.

Pupils from both Sir William Stanier and Malbank schools joined in the fun, helping to serve refreshments and organising games of bingo to round off the party.

Wulvern’s Rachel Parker said: "Older people make a difference to our community everyday as grandparents, carers, volunteers and leaders.

"Older People's Day is all about bringing people together, from teenagers to older people, strengthening contact across generations."
