THE Rotary Club of Nantwich presents a further illustrated talk on the history of Nantwich next month.
The speakers will be well known historian and ex headmaster of Malbank School Herbert Rowsell and Brian Cowin, who is also an historian and local school teacher.
The evening promises to reveal some lesser known facts about Nantwich and will appeal to all ages.
The event will take place on Thursday October 8 in the Peggy Killick Lounge in the Civic Hall from 7pm to 9.30pm.
Tickets cost £5 each and refreshments will be available to purchase from the bar. All proceeds from the evening will go to Rotary Foundation, a charitable trust fund whose aim is to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian and educational programmes. Rotary Foundation Committee chairman Nigel Ball said: “The evening will be highly entertaining as well as interesting and informative. "Come along and learn the significance of the carving of this Dodo with the ‘Parson’s nose’ (pictured), which can be found in St Mary’s Church.”
