A FAMILY-RUN bed and mattress retailer which prides itself on service has opened a new warehouse outlet in Winnington.

The M6 Bed Warehouse is the first business to occupy a unit in the newly completed Winnington Retail Park, off the A553.

The thriving independent started life in Holmes Chapel in 1998, before quickly moving to bigger premises at Radway Green Retail Park, near Alsager, in 2000.

By opening a second store just to the north of Northwich, manager, Tim Parker, hopes to extend the customers base across Mid Cheshire, Runcorn, Widnes, and Warrington.

He said: “We think it’ll be a great move for us. We’re already one of the largest bed stores in the UK, and already have a loyal group of customers in Alsager.

“We’re just looking to extend that north a little bit.

“We’re all about offering the best possible service and the best possible choice.

“The reason people come back to us is the service we provide. We deliver and take away old beds free of charge, and we can also install them too.

“It’s really handy for people, particularly those who don’t want to be moving heavy beds around and disposing of mattresses.

“All the beds we take away, we recycle. A lot of people like that. They go to a company in Whitchurch and get shredded down.

“We’re quite passionate about doing things the right way.”

Expanding into Northwich meant M6 Beds had to take on another five full-time sales staff.

It’s also a welcome move for a number of long-serving staff, according to Tim.

“A lot of the team live in Northwich, so they’re really pleased,” he added.

“We looked for ages to find the right premises, but this one is ideal.

“It looks fantastic and we’re really happy with it. The builders have done a superb job. We’re really excited.

“It’s great for the community as we’ll be employing local people.”
