WORK has been progressing on a new development set to create 164 new houses.

Linden Homes and Torus have launched a collection of two, three and four bedroom homes at Park Grange, Thatto Heath.

There will be 81 homes available for open-market sale via Linden Homes, part of Vistry Group, and a further 83 homes will be built for shared ownership, through housing provider, Torus Homes.

Located on the southwest edge of St Helens, the new development features a mix of terraced, semi-detached and detached homes.

Meanwhile, Linden Homes says it will invest £200,000 to the area over the next three years.

Forming part of its Section 106 agreement as work progresses at Park Grange, Linden Homes says it is contributing £165,000 towards primary and secondary education.

The housebuilder has been working with neighbouring school, Thatto Heath Community Primary School, which has so far seen pupils receive a lesson in health and safety.

Linden Homes, part of the Vistry Group, added it is also investing more than £30,000 in a public right of way contribution, and a further £33,000 in biodiversity net gains (BNG) towards protecting wildlife and improving natural habitats.

The Lighthouse Club Construction Industry Charity has also visited workers on site at Park Grange, as part of its #makeitvisible campaign, which aims to address mental health in the construction industry.

Gemma Hardy, managing director at Vistry Merseyside and Cheshire West, said: “Investing in the communities which we build forms a key part of our commitment to the local area, and we hope to leave an impact long after development work has completed.

"We’re looking forward to growing our relationships with the local community and nearby primary and secondary schools, over the coming months and years.”

The new homes are being sold from the sales office at Linden Homes’ Hatters Chase development in Sandymoor, Runcorn, WA7 1XB.
