A WINSFORD man has been hit with a restraining order and must stay out of trouble after bombarding a woman with unwanted attention.

Daniel Cain, of Esk Road, appeared at Warrington Magistrates Court on April 3 where he pleaded guilty to one count of stalking without fear or distress.

The court heard the 36-year-old harassed a woman in Winsford during a five-day stretch between October 19 and October 23 last year.

In this time, Cain made unwanted contact, including making calls and sending messages, via social media and email.

Cain also attended the woman's address as well as sending her letters and flowers.

Taking his guilty plea into account, magistrates handed him a 12-month conditional discharge.

This means he could return to court if he is found to be in breach of the conditions.

Cain was also slapped with a year-long restraining order, banning him from contacting his victim himself or via a third party, and also from entering a specified Winsford address.

The bench also ordered him to pay £120 in costs and a £26 surcharge.
