FIRE officers believe a blaze in a disused building in the centre of Middlewich was started deliberately.
Two fire engines from Middlewich and Winsford rushed to an empty building on Leadsmithy Street at 3.38pm on Friday, March 29.
Fire crews believe it began after someone purposely ignited paper in the building, and used a hose to extinguish it.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed police have been informed.
A spokesman said: “Firefighters believe someone deliberately ignited paper materials inside the disused building.
“A hose reel jet was used to put out the fire and the police were informed.”
