A CARE home is going under the hammer.

Bank Hall Farm on Swanlow Lane in Winsford is to be sold at auction.

The site was until recently a care home that could support up to seven people with learning disabilities and autism needing round-the-clock care.

However, an inspection carried out by the Care Quality Commission in October 2021 graded the home as ‘Inadequate’.

Despite some positive changes, it was still considered as ‘Requires Improvement’ at a follow-up inspection in June 2022, the latest report available.

The report said that improvements still needed to be made to staff training, individual care plans, and to the autism strategy in place.

It also stated that the provider remained in breach of regulations but was no longer in special measures, which it had been placed into in December 2021.

Cheshire West and Chester Council has been contacted for more information about why the service was closed down.

The now vacant site will now be sold at an auction held by Savills on April 16.

It has a guide price of £690,000.
