AN inquest has been opened into the death of a 49-year-old man from Middlewich.
Gary David Hockenhull, of Ventnor Close, was rushed to Leighton Hospital after he was found unresponsive at home.
He was unable to get himself up after a fall and is thought to have spent a long time on the floor before he was discovered.
He was put on end-of-life care by doctors, but sadly died on Monday, March 11.
He was formally identified by a staff nurse the same day.
At a hearing at Warrington Coroner’s Court on Wednesday, March 27, senior coroner Jacqueline Devonish said she was satisfied an inquest was needed as concerns had been raised over the standard of care Mr Hockenhull was receiving.
Mrs Devonish adjourned the inquest until Wednesday, July 17, to give time for investigations takes place.
An internal review will be held on Monday, May 27.
