PROM season is just around the corner.

Youngsters all over the country are eagerly starting to search for their perfect dress or suit for the big day.

Unfortunately, these can often cost a pretty penny, which is not ideal given the challenges many are facing with the cost of living.

Thankfully, the Winsford-based Green Uniform and Baby Bank (GUBB) has decided to bring back its ‘one-stop prom shop’.

Michelle Hawthorne, co-director of GUBB, said: “We were so pleased with last year's event, we have worked to raise funds since then so that we can put this event on again this year.

“It was lovely to see all the young people getting excited, trying on their outfits and chatting with friends about which one looked best.

“We can't wait to do it again, and we are hoping to have even more people to attend this time."

Wanting to make sure every young person could afford a suit or dress to wear to prom, GUBB held its first prom shop last year.

It proved such a success that they have decided to host it once again.

Using money raised throughout the year, GUBB will run it as a free-to-attend event where both new and pre-loved outfits will be on offer.

All outfits will be priced at £20, with shoes and accessories capped at £5.

There will also be local businesses in attendance sharing information on things like alterations, hair, make-up, nails and tanning.

All money raised from the event will be donated to participating high schools to help them to put on the best possible send-off for their leavers.

The one-stop prom shop will be held at Winsford Academy from 2pm to 5pm on April 28.

You can register to attend by visiting www.eventbrite.com/e/one-stop-pre-loved-prom-shop-tickets-864453903897, earning a free entry into the raffle in the process.

GUBB are still looking for donations of dresses, suits, shirts, ties, shoes and bags as well as offers from any local businesses that can help with raffle prizes.

Donations are being accepted until April 25.
