FIREFIGHTERS spent hours tackling a blaze involving four heavy goods vehicles in Wincham.

Three fire crews were dispatched from Northwich, Lymm and Middlewich to the scene at approximately 10.47pm following reports of a blaze on Wincham Lane yesterday, Saturday.

Upon arrival they found four heavy goods vehicles on fire.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two horse reel jets to extinguish the flames, which took approximately two hours.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will be carried out by Cheshire Fire Service.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire Service said: "Four heavy goods vehicles were involved in a fire. Firefighters in breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to put out the blaze and were on scene for some two hours. An investigation into the cause of the fire will be carried out."
