WINSFORD's Easter celebrations have shifted up a gear this year.

For the first time ever, the town council is hosting an Easter egg hunt ‘with a twist’, as well as bonnet competition for kids aged one to 100, on Saturday, March 30.

The egg hunt - ‘with a twist’ -  will see 11 eggs containing individual letters hidden around Winsford Town Park waiting to be discovered by only the most cunning competitors.

Their mission – if they choose to accept it - is to piece together these hidden letters and unravel a mystery word to win an Easter egg.

As participants track down the specially marked eggs, they’ll have to work together to have a chance of uncovering the secret word.

What’s more, families can get crafty as they prepare for the Easter bonnet competition, where entrants of all ages can create their most imaginative bonnets for a chance to win some fantastic prizes.

Councillor Wayne Fletcher said: “I can’t wait to see the huge smiles on the children’s faces when they discover an egg, and all the amazing bonnets that’ll be on display.

“Whether quirky, floral, or extravagant, it’s time to let your creativity shine.

“This creative Easter egg hunt with a twist is designed to encourages community spirit, teamwork, exploration, and to add a little bit of mystery, hopefully creating lasting memories for members of the Winsford community.

“These are such great events for families to get involved in, and they’re both absolutely free.

“We’re also making sure there are vegan and lactose-free eggs available so no one is left out.

“Big thanks are due to Cllr Pauline Fitzsimmons, whose idea it was to turn Easter in Winsford into something really special.”

Those eager to get involved in the Easter fun should get to Winsford Town Park on Saturday, March 30, at 10am.

Both the Easter egg hunt and bonnet competition are free to enter.
