CAR break-ins have been reported a beauty spot car park.
Police in Winsford have set out to crack down on crime at Whitegate Station.
PCSOs have been carrying out patrols following reports of anti-social behaviour and vehicle break-ins over recent months.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Winsford PCSOs are showing visibility this evening (November 16) at Whitegate Station cafe car park due to reports of anti-social behaviour and car break-ins.”
The car park at the café serves as the main parking spot for Whitegate Way, a historic railway line which once transported salt from Winsford to Cuddington and beyond to Chester and Manchester.
Today, the old railway line has been transformed into a haven for wildlife and is a popular place for cyclists and dog walkers.
One such visitor was Winsford resident Kaz Roebuck.
When parked by the station back in July, Kaz had his car window smashed in.
Backpacks containing bank cards, dog treats and medication were stolen.
He said at the time: “Thanks to these scumbags I now cannot get to work, cannot get my son to work, and cannot get my parents to their hospital appointments.
“Just because they wanted a bag full of dog treats and blocked cards.”
Winsford Police followed up their patrol on Thursday by hosting a surgery at the cafe on Tuesday (November 21).
PC Daisy Churchill and PCSO James Cox met with members of the community to discuss issues, concerns and problems affecting the area.
