A CBBC legend is among the famous faces set to appear when Comic Con returns to Northwich.

The popular event celebrating all things comics, movies, TV and video games will make a welcome return to the town later this month.

Hacker the Dog and puppeteer Phil Fletcher will be among those in attendance, alongside actor Clem So, who has appeared in Dr Who, Star Wars, James Bond, Fantastic Beasts and several Marvel blockbusters.

The man behind the event is Steven Howard, who first brough Comic Con to Northwich in 2016 and is delighted to confirm it will once again be free-to-enter.

“Since the pandemic and financial crisis we changed format and made it a free event so families can still enjoy it without having to worry about the entry cost,” he said.

“November's event will be slightly different to usual because not only can visitors do their Christmas shopping, with the event being later in the year which is what our visitors kept asking for, but we also have the return of special guests from TV and movies.

“We just want to put on an event that people enjoy and see smiles on faces.”

Northwich Comic Con takes place on Saturday, November 25, at Memorial Court from 10am to 4pm.

Alongside Hacker, there will be meet and greets with the likes of Pikachu, Mario and Luigi, Sonic, Olaf and the Grinch.

In the past the event has welcomed James Mackenzie, best known for playing Raven in the CBBC series, Arie Dekker who was the stunt double for Chewbacca in Solo, and Nika Nartova, colour artist for The Beano.

Meanwhile, at this year's event, Bumblebee from Transformers will be posing for photos throughout the day, as will various Star Wars characters and superheroes.

Just in time for Christmas visitors will be able to browse a wide range of stalls, including many selling collectors items not available on the high street.

Last but not least, Northwich Comic Con will once again be staging a cosplay competition with visitors encouraged to dress as their favourite characters to be in with a chance of winning prizes.
