A NORTHWICH man has been ordered to stay out of trouble after appearing at court for spitting inside a police car.
Paul Pacey, of Elm Road, Weaverham, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on November 7 where he pleaded guilty to damaging the vehicle.
Cheshire Police officers arrested the 50-year-old in Weaverham on June 23 earlier this year on suspicion of failing to stop following a collision with a parked vehicle.
But Pacey became 'aggressive' while sat in the back of the police car, spitting on one of the headrests and the steering wheel, as well as honking the horn.
No further action was taken in relation to the collision, however Pacey was charged with criminal damage for his actions inside the car.
Taking his guilty plea into account, magistrates handed him a six-month conditional discharge, which means he could be dealt with for this matter should he commit a further offence in that time.
No request was made for compensation but the bench did order Pacey to pay £120 in court costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a surcharge of £26.
