SINGLE people rejoice, a new dating experience is coming to Northwich.

Secret Singles is gearing up to hosts its first event in the town.

The brainchild of Vicky Evans, Secret singles is aimed at getting people back out and meeting in person, rather than using online dating apps.

She said: “At the end of 2021, I decided to give up on dating apps after a string of unmitigated disasters.

“Instead I joined a group aimed at single people who liked getting out and about and socialising; basically going back to the good old days of actually meeting people face to face and building a connection from there.

“I organised a couple of events with that group as a hobby and realised that I’m actually really good at it!

“I also found that there are thousands of single people who wish we could go back in time to the days of giving someone the eye over a bottle of Smirnoff Ice in Brannigans and having a kiss to Pretty Green Eyes.

“Dating apps were great for a while but now more and more people are being ‘catfished’, ‘ghosted’ and such, it’s easy to become jaded about something that should be exciting and fun.

“Secret Singles is going to bring the fun back to dating.  Once a month, we will take over a local venue for the night and we will fill it with single people.

“Whether people go there to make new friends or to find the love of their life is up to them but we promise that they will have the time of their lives either way.”

Northwich isn’t the first location to host a Secret Singles event, having already been successfully launched in Chester, Warrington, Knutsford and the Wirral.

The inaugural Secret Singles Northwich will take place on November 16 at Blakemere Village Social.

There will be live music from local singer James Coe with tickets priced at £5, which includes a welcome drink.

In the future there are plans for events such as wine tastings and gin tours, as well as outdoor activities.
