FIREWORKS night is almost upon us, with communities around the country preparing to light up the night sky.

In Northwich the showpiece event will be FireFest at Verdin Park.

Organised by Northwich Rotary and Northwich Round Table in collaboration with the town council, the display is expected to feature thousands of individual firework bursts.

Without further ado, here is all you need to know about this year’s event.

When is FireFest 2023?

FirFest 2023 is on Saturday (November 4).

Gates will open at 5.30pm.

A huge, supervised, bonfire will then be lit at 6.30pm.

The firework display will then start at 7.15pm.

Where is it and where can you park?

FireFest 2023 will be held at Verdin Park in Northwich.

There will be two entrances to the site, one by the playpark and another towards Victoria Infirmary.

Organisers have advised that there will be no public parking at Verdin Park.

Only blue badge holders will be allowed to park at the Infirmary car park.

All other members of the public are requested to use official car parks in the town.

What can you expect from the display?

The show is being put on by Fantasia Fireworks and will be “lengthy and spectacular”, organisers say.

In total it will feature 2,854 individual bursts, of which almost all will be aerial and some with a spread of more than 75 metres.

What else is happening?

As mentioned, there will be a huge bonfire warming the crowds.

Meanwhile, Northwich Radio will be providing music throughout the evening.

There will also be a funfair as well as a variety of vendors selling hot and cold food and drinks.

Vendors already confirmed to be at the event include: In The Dog Haus, Spoon desserts, Halloumination, Apricot blue catering, Little Espresso Company, Carousel Creations Cheshire, Layers Treats, Fredricks Ice Cream, Lets Eat, Glitter Stall, and Hush/NTC Bar

What can’t you bring in?

No dogs will be allowed into the site, except specialist assistance dogs who are trained to help a person with a disability to perform specific tasks.

Personal fireworks are also banned, including sparklers, and anyone who does so will be told to leave.

Similarly, guests cannot bring there own alcohol as there will be a licensed bar on site. Any alcohol brought in will be confiscated.

Organisers have said there will be registered SIA security on site to assist.

Tickets?

Tickets are still on sale now at www.firefest.org.uk, priced at £10 for adults (ages 16 and over), £5 for children (aged four to 15) and free for infants (under three).

Tickets will also be available on the gate (cash or card accepted), but organisers recommend purchasing in advance to speed up entry.

All of the money raised from FireFest 2023 will go towards local charities and good causes.
