A RUDHEATH man has been banned from the roads after failing to give a breath sample when suspected of a driving offence.

After initially denying the offence, Jack Beasant, of Elizabethan Way, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on October 13 where he changed his plea to guilty.

The 33-year-old was stopped on May 29 earlier this year, but did not have a reasonable excuse not to provide a sample of breath.

Taking his plea into account, magistrates disqualified Beasant from driving for 20 months and ordered him to complete 100 of unpaid work, to be done within a year.

He must also pay £400 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £114 surcharge.
