A NEW bar is preparing to open in Northwich.

Dockyard will soon be opening at Barons Quay, offering games, drinks and food.

The bar has started sharing photos on its social media, giving people a taste of what to expect.

The pool tables were installed Saturday (October 7) with Dockyard confirming that the opening date will be announced “very soon”.

Speaking previously, operations support manager George Horsley said: “We are thrilled about coming to Northwich and the Barons Quay development and can’t wait to open our doors to the public and start working with the community to create something exciting!”

Dockyard is a chain of bars which can also be found in Media City, Spinningfields and Didsbury.

The Northwich venue will include all the best bits of the company’s other locations.

Alongside the pool tables will be at least two full-length shuffleboards and two or three interactive dart booths.

It has also been hinted that it could feature arcade and pinball machines, console gaming, UV ping pong, boardgames, dungeons and dragons and trading cards.

The bar’s Instagram page has shown there will also be a roof terrace, live music every week, and pizza provided by PLY.

There will also be a “surprise element” which is being kept under wraps for the time being and will be announced “shortly before opening”, Mr Horsely previously stated.

Dockyard Barons Quay is due to open at some point in October.

It is not the only new venue opening at the Northwich retail and leisure hub.

Wild Tots, a restaurant and play area, will take over the unit previously home to Sticky Paws.

At the helm will be Carl Fraenkl-Rietti, who has two decades of experience in the hospitality industry.

He said: “When the Sticky Paws venue became available, I knew it was the perfect place to combine all the aspects of my life, parenting and hospitality.

“Northwich is the perfect place for a venue like this too with so many young families. It has been very moving how welcoming the community has been already.”
