A MAN has been taken to hospital after falling from a roof.

A large emergency service presence was called to Northwich Road in Weaverham following reports that a man had fallen off the roof of a property.

He fell shortly before 4.30pm on Monday (September 25), landing on scaffolding and having to be rescued by firefighters.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A casualty had fallen from a roof onto scaffolding.

“Firefighters worked alongside North West Ambulance personnel using a twin line system to help lower the injured person to the ground.

“The casualty was then taken to hospital.”

A CFRS crew from Winsford and a Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Wythenshawe were both sent to the scene.

Police and ambulance personnel also attended.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “At around 4.30pm on Monday September 25 police were called to reports of an incident at an address on Northwich Road, Weaverham.

“Police, fire and ambulance attended and found that man had fallen from a ladder while undertaking DIY at the address.

“The man was rescued from the property by firefighters and passed to the care of paramedics.”
