THREE Northwich drink drivers have been banned from the roads this week after getting behind the wheel while over the limit.

Keiron Skellington, Peter Owen and Morgan Walton all appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, August 1, to face drink driving charges.

Skellington, of Middlewich Road, Rudheath, was caught last month on July 2 while driving on his home street.

A breath test revealed the 27-year-old had 78 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath in his system. The legal limit is 35.

Taking his guilty plea into account, magistrates disqualified him from driving for 20 months and fined him £500.

Skellington was also ordered to pay court costs of £120 to the Crown Prosecution Service and a surcharge of £200.

Owen, of Lambert Way, Hartford, was caught on June 11 earlier this year while travelling along Highfield Grange Avenue in Wigan.

The 36-year-old was found to have 73 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath, exceeding the limit.

After changing his plea to guilty at an earlier hearing on June 27, Owen returned to court for sentencing.

Taking this into account, the bench disqualified him for 40 months and fined him £100.

Owen was also ordered to complete a 28-day Building Better Relationships programme and up to a maximum of 35 days rehabilitation activity.

He must also pay £120 court costs.

Walton, of Marshall Lane, was caught on June 30 this year while driving along Chesterway in Northwich.

A breath test revealed the 24-year-old had 68 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

Walton pleaded guilty to drink driving and was handed an interim disqualification.

The case was adjourned for a Drink Rehabilitation Requirements (DRR) assessment to take place.

Walton will return to court on August 31 for sentencing.
