A NURSERY in Northwich got into the coronation mood this week by holding a 'high tea'-themed street party.

Chrysalis Day Nursery in Gadbrook Park, Rudheath, held a schoolwide celebration for the King Charles III's Coronation on Thursday, May 4, a few days ahead of today's grand event.

The theme for the event was ‘high tea street party’ and the menu included the much talked-about Coronation Quiche.

Nursery manager, Karen Holland, said the kids loved the celebrations.

Karen said: “It’s been a brilliant day – we even had the weather!

“The kids have been making crowns and flags, and painting pictures, and talking about King Charles all week.

“And today, the whole nursery gathered together at the front of the building, and we had our fantastic outdoor coronation tea street party.

“The chef, John, made a traditional high tea picnic for all the kids, including the new signature Coronation Quiche.

“The kids all loved it. It couldn’t have gone better.”
