A CHILDREN’S festival which was due to take place at Arley Hall next month has been cancelled due to ‘rising costs’.

Geronimo Festival - described as ‘the largest children’s festival in the north west with hundreds of activities for children aged 0-12’ - has called off its 2023 event which was due to return to Cheshire between May 27 and 29.

The event first took place at Tatton Park in 2015 but more recently has been held at Arley Hall.

A statement from the festival published on April 26 reads: “Like many others in the events industry, Geronimo Festival has been affected by rising costs for staging our festival.

“After notifying our ticket holders first, we confirm that sadly Geronimo 2023 has had to be postponed to protect the future of the festival.

“We will be back August 23rd-26th, 2024, to celebrate our 10th birthday and hope you will join us for an extra special Geronimo Festival!

“All tickets for Geronimo 2023 will be rolled over to the corresponding day(s) for Geronimo 2024.”

The festival usually includes live shows from children’s TV favourites, as well as various other displays, activities and fun and games.

Its website is now advertising tickets for the 2024 event and its Facebook page has published a statement regarding the cancellation of the 2023 event.
