CAMPSITES in Northwich and Winsford have made been named in the top 10 sites in the north west.

Pitchup.com, an outdoor accommodation booking platform, has revealed its top-ranked sites across Cumbria, Cheshire and Lancashire, as rated by campers following their own stays at these locations.

Lamb Cottage Caravan Park in Dalefords Lane, Northwich, was rated 9.9 out of 10.

This touring park is adult only, dog friendly and includes various facilities, such as a laundry room, bathroom block with toilets and showers, washing up area, a dog wash, and an information room, complete with guides of the local area and DVDs and books to borrow.

It is around a half-an-hour drive to Chester, Chester Zoo and Cheshire Oaks, or less than an hour to Liverpool or Manchester.

But for those wanting to stay in the great outdoors, there are plenty of walks nearby, plus places to go fishing and play golf.

Northwich Guardian:

New Farm Cheshire Holidays in Long Lane, Winsford, was also rated 9.9 out of 10.

The park is available for touring pitches, set in 55 acres of farm land with panoramic views, but there are also camping pods available to hire out too.

As well as camping, New Farm offers bed and breakfast.

It is adult only, but is dog friendly, with plenty of country lanes and fields nearby for four-legged friends to enjoy themselves.

Amenities include a heated toilet and shower block.

Anglers and nature spotters will be kept happy with three fishing lakes next to the park which attract lots of local wildlife.

Pitchup.com calculated the ratings by evaluating campsites on its website with a minimum of 20 reviews.

Based on more than 159,000 customer reviews in 2022, each site was evaluated on aspects including location, value for money, quality of accommodation, activities and cleanliness.

Guests awarded 70 per cent of all UK sites listed on the platform in 2022 an overall score of eight out of 10 and above, with 141 sites in Cumbria, Cheshire and Lancashire scoring an eight or above.
