TAKE a look at some of these wartime recipes using rationed foods during the Second World War.
Brian Richardson discovered The Cannon Wartime Recipe Booklet in the 1980s, which once belonged to his mother, who was born in Quebec Cottage, Great Budworth.
Brian, who lives in Stockton Heath after his mother moved there once she met his father, said: “Unfortunately, I cannot remember my mother using the recipe book, but I am sure she would have.
“I found the cookery book in the 1980s and have treasured it since.”
The booklet contains simple recipes for tomato and lentil soup, as well as meat and ‘in place of meat’ dishes.
There is also a selection of puddings with minimal ingredients to help people create treats for their families while complying with Second World War rationing.
