AN inquest has been opened into the death of a woman found at a Northwich park.

Emergency services were called to Griffiths Park in Rudheath shortly before 9am on Saturday, February 11, after concerns were raised for the welfare of a woman.

The 40-year-old, named by the coroner as Delene Julia Hall of Felix Court in Bristol, was pronounced dead at the scene.

On opening the inquest, the coroner confirmed Delene had been found hanged.

The community of Rudheath was left shocked and saddened by the death, but they came together on Sunday, February 12, to hold a torch-lit vigil to pay their respects.

Flowers were also left in tribute on a bench at Griffiths Park.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “At 8.56am on Saturday, February 11, police were called to concerns for the welfare of a woman in Griffiths Park, Northwich.
