Winsford sex offender jailed after breaching harm order

Mark Buckley, of East Dudley Street, was locked up for two years after he deleted internet history and failed to register electronic devices to the police.

The 47-year-old had been made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order when he was given a suspended prison sentence in August of last year.

Buckley had been spared an immediate spell behind bars despite pleading guilty to inciting a young teenager to engage in sexual activity. He had also downloaded indecent images of children, but his 18-month jail term was suspended for two years.

As part of the 10-year sexual harm prevention order, Buckley was also required to register any new devices to police but failed to do so with a laptop and mobile phone found in his possession.

Those offences came to light in July this year – less than 12 months after the suspended sentence order was put in place at Chester Crown Court.

Buckley was hauled back before the court on Tuesday, August 16 where he pleaded guilty to the three breaches of the sexual harm prevention order.

There was an additional guilty plea for breaching the terms of the suspended sentence order.

Buckley was handed six-month prison sentences for each of the three breaches, one of which will be served consecutively to the activated 18-month suspended sentence - with the other two to be served concurrently.

He will therefore serve a total of two years in prison, with the 10-year sexual harm prevention order remaining in place.

The judge also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the laptop and mobile phone.
