A FUN-FILLED celebration of country life promises a great family day out.

Tatton Park’s farm is hosting a traditional English English fayre over the Bank Holiday weekend.

A feast of activities will be on offer from Saturday, August 27 to Monday, August 29, from 11am to 4pm.

Children can try their hand at an egg and spoon race or put their strength to the test in a tug-of-war.

Youngsters can have a go at a circus skills workshop before watching professionals perform at the end of the afternoon.

Ferret racing, archery and falconry demonstrations are among some of the many other attractions.

Live entertainment will be provided by Morris dancers plus piping and drumming bands.

A barbecue will be serving lunch using fresh farm produce.

Jayne Chapman, farm manager at Tatton Park, said: “It sounds like a cliché but there really is something for everyone.

“We know that on bank holiday weekends, different generations love to come together as a family.

Visitors can wander round the farm and meet farmyard favourites including newly hatched chicks.

A steam engine will be fired up and running.

There will be a chance to watch a milking demonstration or browse stalls run by Darlington James and The Grateful Sheep Company.

North Cheshire Spinners will introduce visitors to a selection of crafts.
