STARTING a business during a global pandemic is not an easy task and making it into a successful business is even harder.
But that’s exactly what Sharon and Gary Newton did when they launched Newton’s Nosh Catering in Winsford.
And now the small family-run venture has been awarded the Best Burger 2022 title – something which everyone is celebrating.
Since its launch at the end of April, the Best of 2022 competition has named winners in 15 different categories.
Top honours for hair, nails, beauty, fitness, children and independent shop have been given out as well as those for fish and chips, pies, pubs, beer garden, breakfast, afternoon tea, roast dinner and pizza already decided.
Voting is currently taking place in the latest round of the competition with the award for Best Cafe 2022 up for grabs, and voting closes at midnight on Monday, August 15.
Next up we were searching for the town’s best burger and Newton’s Nosh Catering came out on top.
Nominations for the popular place said the food is “amazing” with takeaway services available as well as a dine-in options with covered outside seating.
Sharon and Gary together with their daughter Megan started the business around three-and-a-half years ago delivering breakfasts and lunches around the area, working through the Covid-19 lockdowns.
They opened the doors of their shop in May 2021 once restrictions were lifted having waited for a suitable venue and their loyal customers were able to visit the new premises in person.
Sharon said: “We’re very grateful to our customers for all their support.
“We have so many regulars who have been with us since day one and it’s nice to see them when they call in to place an order.
“We started the business during a difficult time so it’s extremely rewarding to win the Best Burger 2022 title.”
The most popular item on the menu is the spicy chicken burger which is crispy chicken served on a bun with lettuce, tomato and fried onions and a choice of more than 20 different sauces.
The traditional cheeseburger is another customer favourite and it’s served on a gourmet bun with fried onions, lettuce and tomato.
Newton’s Nosh Catering is open six days a week between 9am and 4pm Mondays to Saturdays.
