TWO irresponsible drivers from Winsford and Middlewich have been banned from the roads after being caught over the limit.

Scott Rowland, 24, and Lydia Clare, 28, both appeared in Chester Magistrates’ Court on Friday (August 5) in separates cases of driving under the influence.

They were disqualified for a combined total of almost three years.

Rowland, of Cherry Crescent in Winsford, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Fiesta along Woodford Lane in the town on July 1 after drinking alcohol.

He gave a reading of 47 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the prescribed limit of 35 microgrammes.

Rowland was fined £300 for the offence and disqualified from driving for 14 months.

He will need to pay £85 in court costs and a £120 surcharge.

Meanwhile, Clare, of Sutton Lane in Middlewich, pleaded guilty to driving a VW Polo along Middlewich Road in Allostock on July 17 after drinking alcohol.

She was almost twice over the legal limit, providing a reading of 69 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Clare was disqualified from driving for 20 months and was fined £138.

She will need to pay £85 in court costs and a £55 surcharge.
