A NUMBER of vehicles parked in a residential area without road tax have been referred to the DVLA by police.
The Winsford BEAT team was made aware of the vehicles parked on a public highway.
Officers conducted checks and four were not road taxed.
Winsford Wharton Police posted on social media: “Warning notices have been placed on them, and referrals will now be made to the DVLA who can issue a fine of up to £1,000 for each vehicle to the owner.
“Other vehicles are parked on land belonging to Weaver Vale Housing Trust.
“We will be in contact with them to request that they take appropriate action.
“Removal of these vehicles will improve the outlook of the area for residents, and come at a significant financial cost to the owner who has previously been warned about his behaviour.”
