CHESHIRE dog lovers are invited to a pawsome charity fundraiser, which includes a sausage catching competition, dogbola and sausage bobbing.

On Sunday, September 4, dog lovers and families are invited to join the fifth annual charity trail day at Blakemere Village, Northwich, to raise money for the Cinnamon Trust.

The Cinnamon Trust supports elderly and terminally ill people with their pets.

It helps provide housebound people with pet taxis, dog walkers and pet sitting during hospital admissions.

The elderly can get advice on pet-friendly care homes and the trust provides reassurance to those who are terminally ill that their pet will be cared for after they’ve passed away.

This year’s charity event, organised by Pettrailer UK, will be a day full of fun activities for all the family, including hide and seek dog trails, tombola, a friendly sausage fling to see whose dog can catch at the greatest distance, a blind auction, sausage bobbing and a ‘dogbola’.

All proceeds will be donated to the Cinnamon Trust.

Founder and head trainer at Pettrailer UK Becky Smith, volunteered for the charity for several years and knows first-hand the amazing work it does and the peace of mind it brings to those in need and their pets.

She said: "The aim of our event is to raise awareness and vital funds for the Cinnamon Trust and we would love to appeal to local businesses that want to support their community’s elderly and terminally ill pet owners, to come forward to support our event.

"We are looking for dog and non-doggy related donations that can used for prizes on the day: gifts, vouchers, toys, treats, experiences etc.

"Businesses can also sponsor one of our activities in return for free advertising on the day.

"Our chairty trail days bring the community together for a really fun day out for families of all ages and their dogs.

"Helping promote and raise vital funds for charities, they are our own way, as a small business, to give back to the communities we work with."
